How will you choose to show up?
I’m in celebration mode! Yesterday, I completed a coaching series with my first ever client (it still excites me to say that word!) and she was an absolute dream to work with. The reason that our series flowed so easily and she achieved so much is because that is what she chose to do. Sound too easy? Let me explain.
One of my favourite quotes is by Brene Brown. She says, “I’ve never seen any life transformation that didn’t begin with the person in question finally getting tired of their own bullshit.” In order to want change in your life, there has to be something that is no longer working for you or serving you. Maybe that’s your eating habits, maybe it’s your negative inner dialogue, maybe it’s your lack of money or maybe you’re sick of constantly procrastinating. Whatever it is, to affect change you must be willing to do something different.
Once you’ve decided that a different way of being is indeed what you want, the task of showing up begins. As a coach, I cannot make anybody do anything. I cannot make somebody eat differently. I cannot make them speak more kindly themselves. I can’t even kick them up the butt and push them out of their procrastination cycle. My job is to simply nurture, inspire and support them as they step up and do this for themselves.
The level to which you show up for yourself is the level to which you will experience change. It’s that simple. So, if you know that there is something that you are wanting to change, now is the time to bust through the bullshit and show up. You are absolutely worth it and your future self will thank you for it. Heck, she’ll be in celebration mode too, with a glass of bubbly in hand!
With gratitude and love,
