The Apple Experiment: Getting curious about energy - Part 2.
I almost called this blog post ‘The confession’, because that’s what it feels like. I have put off writing this for some time now because to be honest, I’ve been nervous both about the reaction and about what it means for my beliefs.
A few weeks ago, when I began my apple experiment, I was excited. I was excited because I thought that my prediction was a sure thing and that in a week’s time I was going to sit down and write a post all about how vibrational and emotional energy is a real thing and how my apple pieces responded to my words and restructured themselves accordingly. The truth is, this isn’t what happened. The truth is, both apples began to rot at a similar pace, with the ‘positive’ apple even rotting a little more than the ‘negative’ one.
I’ve thought about whether I did the experiment wrong, about whether I wasn’t ‘nasty’ enough, about whether my vibration was in alignment with my words. But you know what? I’ve come to the conclusion that none of it matters. I want to believe in these energies and their power and so I will.
I love this quote from the website One mind- One energy, and I think it sums up my thoughts here well:
“Humans live by the old saying "seeing is believing" - but why do we not learn from history and realize that something might be true even though we do not see it. We do not have to see something to believe it. It should be the other way around - believing will make you see. Most people only choose to look at what they know now and what they can see. They only rely on their five senses. They are not willing to keep an open mind. They are not willing to accept that everything vibrates and that The Law of Vibration is real -that we are vibrating sending-towers transmitting our thoughts and feelings into the universe all the time.”
So, even though my darling little apples didn’t do exactly what I thought they would, I still walk away from this experience choosing to be ‘impeccable with [my] word’ as Don Miguel Ruiz puts it. I’m choosing to believe in both The Law of Vibration and The Law of Attraction because hey? What’s the worst that can happen if they aren’t ever proven? I communicate respectfully and authentically to others and to myself. Doesn’t sound like such a terrible deal to me!
With gratitude and love,
